Having photographed weddings for many years, I still find each one offers a unique challenge. During the initial meeting with the bride and groom, I make sure I have a good idea of what they expect me to achieve for them. Each photographer has their own style and way of working, but certain details of the day can hold personal importance to the couple - it's important I know what they are.  It's crucial to carry out a recce of the venue beforehand, so the best places for the photos are committed to memory. This way the photography can run as smoothly as possible without interrupting the day. I ask that group shots be kept to a minimum, so I can concentrate on documenting the story. It's the candid pictures that reveal true emotion, and are far more rewarding to fill your album with. However, the Bride and Groom get special treatment as you would expect, so for a short while they are taken away from the crowd to get some beautiful shots of just the two of them.
